Obituary for John D. DeBarbieri

John D. DeBarbieri, 66, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2018. Born in East Orange, the son of Edward and Catherine (Frebel) DeBarbieri, he lived in Nutley prior to moving to Bloomfield 43 years ago. He was a teacher with the Township of Union Board of Education and was a member of the NJEA. He earned his Bachelors from Montclair State University and his Masters in Education from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI.
The beloved husband of the late Joann (Pepe) DeBarbieri, he is survived by his children, David and Michael DeBarbieri, Jaclyn Carloni, Daniel and Kathleen DeBarbieri; three granddaughters, Giovanna, Sofia and Ava, and his brothers, James and Jeffrey.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue Bloomfield, NJ at 10 a.m.
The cremation services will be private.
There will be no public visitation prior to the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, (https://www.cancer.org/) would be preferred.
