Obituary for John A. Nosti
Loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Grandfather
John A. Nosti, 95 of Nutley, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Born in Newark, John was the son of the late Louis and Mary (De Cesare) Nosti. He was a proud Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and attended Newark College of Engineering. John retired as National Sales Consultant of Astro Tool Corp. in Beaverton, Oregon, previously Buchanan Electrical Products, where he was employed for over 50 years. John was a former parishioner at Holy Family Church and served as Parish Council President. He was a member of the PTA, Holy Name Society and church choir, and also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville for over 20 years.
The beloved husband of the late Anne M. (Gitto) Nosti, he is survived by his son, Louis and wife Cindy (Lehman) Nosti, his daughter, Joanne Jinks; 5 grandchildren; Jennifer Fiduccia, Christopher Jinks, David, Marc, and Alisa Nosti, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his brothers; Louis, James and Edward Nosti, and his son-in-law, Larry Jinks.
The funeral will be Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 8:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital stjude.org/donate/, would be preferred.
