Obituary for John R. Schettine
Loving Son, Nephew and Cousin
John R. Schettine, 63 of Montclair passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Born in Newark, the son of the late John and Lucita (Butera) Schettine, he lived in Newark and Bloomfield before moving to Montclair 12 years ago. John graduated Barringer High School and was a volunteer at Mountainside Hospital. He was a choir member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a board member of ARC of Essex County.
John is survived by his Aunt Rosemarie Catalfamo and cousin Susan Alexander and her husband Frank, and their children Alexis and Frankie Alexander. His cousin Joseph Catalfamo and his wife Kim, and their children Joey and Gerard Catalfamo and many other loving cousins, as well as, his ARC family.
The funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church) 94 Pine St. in Montclair at 9:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
