Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
John Volpe, 98 of Nutley passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Born in Savignano, Italy, the son of Michael and Carmela (Labriola) Volpe, he lived in Italy prior to immigrating to the United States and settling in Nutley 75 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he worked in the Maintenance Department at P.S.E.&G. in Passaic. He was also a proud Army Veteran of World War II
John is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Tobista (Mossucco) Volpe; his children, Olivia Vetrano and her husband, Daniel, Michael Volpe and his wife, Robin, John Volpe and his wife, Rita, Anthony Volpe and his wife, Xiomara, Frank Volpe and his wife, Judith and Joseph Volpe and his wife, Margena; 2 sisters, Ida Ferraro and Mary McQuoid; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.
The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
