Obituary for Joseph A. Cavallo

Joseph A. Cavallo, 78, formerly of Lyndhurst passed away August 8, 2020. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Luigi Cavallo and Angelina (San Filippo) Cavallo. Mr. Cavallo was a manger for Inserra Shop-Rite for over 40 years before retiring. He was known as a man that got things done. He was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather to his surviving wife, Alberta M. (Molinari), his son, Dr. Joseph L. Cavallo and his wife, Tina, his daughter (who always brightened his day) Janine Cavallo, and his granddaughter, Chloe; who always gave him a smile.

Mr. Cavallo was in the food business his entire life. His passion for food was well known to his family and friends as a gourmet chef. He hosted and prepared many holidays and parties and was known for his abundant spreads and delicious dishes. He was also known for his kind, caring and generous nature. He would be the first to lend a hand and dig deep into his pockets.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Thursday August 14 at 10:00am.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover at 11:30am followed by
entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association would be preferred.
