Obituary for Joseph D'Auria

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

Joseph D’ Auria, 88, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by his family on June 30, 2022. Born in Nyack, New York, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Jessie (Bellerson) D’ Auria. At age 19 he married the love of his life, Marian (Mancuso) D’Auria, who passed away on June 3, 2022. They were married on June 7, 1953, and moved to Wayne, New Jersey. He worked for over 30 years in the Standard Engineering Department at Singer-Kearfott, Guidance & Navigation Division in Totowa, New Jersey.

In his retirement, Joseph enjoyed fishing & crabbing, family vacations in Beach Haven West, travelling with his wife, spending time with his family and going on trips/excursions with his sister and brother-in-law, Mary, and Roy Kesting. They were all best friends. He especially enjoyed his one-on-one conversations with Roy, in which many of them included conspiracy of pranks, tricks and jokes that brought much laughter to all. Their sense of humor/wit were with intelligence, creativity and uniqueness that could not be matched by any other.

Joseph was a man of great dignity, and kindness and will be fiercely missed by his family. He was incredibly proud of his family and shared the same with many.

Joseph is predeceased by his wife Marian (Mancuso) D’ Auria, sister Joyce (D’ Auria) and Jim O’Connor. Joseph is survived by his sister Mary (D’ Auria) and Roy Kesting and his children Cindy (D'Auria) Dyak and husband Steve Payton, Jill (D’ Auria) Watts and husband Kevin Watts. Nieces and Nephews Patricia and Greg Messina, Kathy and Tom Woods, Kevin and Bernice O’Connor, Roy J. and Mary Kesting, Joyce, and Jeffery Housel, Bill & Mishelle Kesting. His grandchildren Cheryl and Jonathan Brauer, Brian Dyak, Daniel and Katie Watts, Rachel Watts and Rafal Dziedzic. His great grandchildren Jacob and Madison Brauer, Kinsley Dziedzic and Natalie Watts.

Visiting will be from the S.W Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre Street, Nutley on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 7-9pm. Cremation will be private.
