Obituary for Joseph S. "Joey" Rocco Jr.

Loving Son, Brother, Uncle, and Fiancée

Joseph “Joey” S. Rocco, Jr., 29 of Kearny passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Born in Belleville, the son of Irene Rusignuolo and Joseph S. Rocco, he lived in Belleville prior to moving to Kearny 4 years ago. He was a tile contractor and Vice President of All Pro Tile Installations in Belleville.
Joey was an avid animal lover who loved fishing and crabbing. He took great care and pride in his work as a tile contractor. He was also a “foodie” who loved collecting stickers from everywhere he visited. Joey was a kind and gentle person and always expressed his love and dedication to his family and his fiancée.
Besides his parents, Irene and Joseph, he is survived by his grandmother, Margie Rocco; his fiancée, Amanda Donelan; a sister, Jolene Winsor and her husband, Charlie; his Godson/nephew Paul Anthony; a niece, Raquel Elena; two nephews, Charlie Jr. and Brandon, his future mother-in-law Tamra McNamee and his future brother-in-law Anthony Zois.
Joey also leaves his aunts, Lee Izzio and her hushand, Tony; and his godmother, Theresa Vitale and her husband, Frank; his beloved cats, Bally, LuLu and “Outside Cat," and many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Arthur and Edith Rusignuolo and Joseph P. Rocco and his Godfather/uncle Anthony Rusignuolo.

The funeral will be Friday, March 29, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark at 11:30 a.m.

The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/) would be preferred.
