Obituary for Joseph J. Rose
Joseph J. Rose, 84, of Nutley, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Born in Paterson, NJ, Joseph was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Lincoln) Rose. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Joe worked in the automobile management industry for 35 years, before retiring from Honda of Essex in West Caldwell.
Joe was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed rooting for his favorite football team, the NY Jets with his wife Jeanne by his side. In the warmer months, he loved watching the NY Mets.
During his retirement, he enjoyed many hours reading the latest novels from his favorite authors. Joe especially treasured the vacations he spent with Jeanne on a warm Caribbean beach or cruising the Atlantic.
Joe will always be remembered for being a sharp dressed man. He had a great sense of humor, warm heart and charismatic personality.
Joe is preceded in death by his six sisters, two brothers and son Joseph who recently passed in 2022.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Jeanne Rose. He also leaves behind his sister Patricia Kessel, and sister-in-law Joan Garefino. He will be greatly missed by Alexandrea DeGraw, a niece who looked at him as a father, and his best buddy, her son Carmen Reino. Joe also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a circle of friends which he considered to be part of his family.
We will all miss him more than words can say.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave., Nutley, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 9:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) would be appreciated.
