Obituary for Josephine Esposito (Intindola)

Josephine Esposito, businesswoman, beloved mother and wife, and life-long resident of Nutley, NJ, died on February 15, 2021 at the age of 84 after a long illness.

Josephine is survived by her beloved husband Edward; her son Edward, Jr, his wife Colleen and daughter Tara; and her son Rocco, his wife Suzanne, their children Max and Sofia. She is also survived by her sister Joanne and her brother Neil. She is predeceased by her brother Anthony, her mother Anna, and her father Pasquale.

Josephine was born in Newark in 1936, the second of four children, to Pasquale and Anna Intindola. She graduated from Nutley High School in 1954 and worked as a secretary for Walter Kidde and typist for Crum and Forster before founding Esposito Insurance Group in 1979, where became a fixture in the greater Nutley business community for over 30 years. She married her life-long high school sweetheart Edward in 1958 and had two children. She loved to read, watch science fiction movies, cooking and baking, gardening, and in later years became an expert online video game enthusiast.

Josephine was proud of her Italian-American heritage and enjoyed food and culture. She was direct, funny, and kept her friends and family laughing. Josephine will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Saturday February 20 at 8:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nutley at 9:30 am followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm.
