Josephine Guardabasco, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018. Born in Orange, NJ, the daughter of the late Rose (Chuckerel) and Salvatore Buono, she lived in East Orange prior to moving to Bloomfield 54 years ago.
She was past president of the Bloomfield National Babe Ruth League and the Woman’s Auxiliary President, a member of the Essex County Republican Committee and District Leader, the Belleville Senior Citizens and the Essex County Senior Citizens.
The beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Guardabasco, she is survived by her children, Joseph J. Jr. and his wife, Diana, Robert S. and his wife, Anjanee, Lenore R. Furman and Gerald Anthony Guardabasco and her grandchildren, Joseph J. III, Erica and Christine Furman and Yashoda and Nicholas Guardabasco.
Josephine was also predeceased by her sisters, Angela Gizzo, Antoinette Buono, Lucy Mincolelli and her brothers, Gabriel and Gerard Buono.

The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 a.m.

The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
