Katherine Ruggiero of Clifton, formerly of Belleville, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. Born in Newark, NJ, Katherine was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Suppa) Colandro. She was a Transportation Director for the Bloomfield Board of Education. After retiring a few weeks, she decided retirement life was not for her. Katherine went back to the Bloomfield school system and worked in the main office at the High School. The beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Ruggiero, Katherine is survived by her children JoAnn DeCristofaro, Phyllis Ruggiero, and Carol DeAngelis. Her late son Raymond Ruggiero. Her Brother Anthony Colandro and Sister Florence Mezle. Her six grandchildren are David DeAngelis, Joshua DeCristofaro, Andrew Ruggiero, Amber Ruggiero, Lea Ruggiero, Niko DeCristofaro, and great-grandchild Lucio Ruggiero. She was predeceased by her brother Carmine Colandro, sisters Emily Hogenbirk, Lillian Paulyk, and Anna Gesualdo.
Her children know how blessed they were to have her as their mother. Nobody could ever find those angel wings she hid so well. She lived for her family, friends, and co-workers. Katherine was one of the most amazing human beings someone could encounter.
