Obituary for Leonard C. Nick
Leonard C. Nick, 83, of Nutley, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 10, 2021.
Lenny worked at Nabisco in Fair Lawn as a research chemist for many years, retiring in 1985. He was heavily involved with Nutley little league and Post 70 Legion baseball. He was also a Past Commander of American Legion Post 70 in Nutley.
Lenny took up a hobby with his father-in-law, Angelo Luzzi, racing pigeons.
A Korean War Vet, he served in the US Navy from Sept 1954 until Sept 1962 and was on the USS Stockham.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Luzzi), his daughter Judy Du Haime and husband Van, his son Lenny and wife Linda and his son James and his wife Mandy. He is also survived by grandchildren Catherine Perry (Jeff), Daniel Du Haime (Annette), Amanda and Rachel Nick and Tyler and Ryan Nick, 3 great grandchildren Madison and Hannah Perry and Sebastien Du Haime.
Also survived by two sisters, Diana Alesso and Carol Lee Schultz and his sister-in-law Caroline Ferraro plus many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday January 14 from 3-6 pm. A service will also be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 5:30 pm.
