Leroy “Smitty” Smith of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday September 16, 2015. Born and raised in Elizabeth, he had lived in Nutley for 20 years. Mr. Smith was a correction officer with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Predeceased by his father, Albert Leroy Blackburn Smith, he is survived by his mother, Audrey J. (Marsh) Smith, his fiancée, Crystal Murdock and his sister, Vivian Paglia.
A graveside service will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 350 Provinceline Rd. Arneytown, NJ on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 2:30 pm.
