Luis Octavio Diaz, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his home. Born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, he lived there prior to immigrating to the United States in June of 1971 when he moved to Newark.
The beloved husband of the late Francisca Felisa (del Valle) Diaz and loving son of the late Jose’ & Petronila Lazo (de la Vega) Diaz, he is survived by his son, Jesus Enrique Diaz and his brother, Jose’ Diaz. Luis was also predeceased by his son, Luis Antonio Diaz and a sister, Amelia Diaz. Luis retired from Red Devil, Inc. in Union and was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Newark.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Newark at 10:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-8 p.m.
