Devoted wife, loving mother & grandmother
Maria Dos Anjos Matos of Belleville, passed away on Sunday June 6, 2021. Born in Seixo De Mira, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Reinaldo Batista Maranhão and Olinda Ribeiro. Maria emigrated from Portugal in 1969 and lived in Newark for 37 years before coming to Belleville 15 years ago. She was employed as sheet metal fabricator before leaving to raise her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Jesus Matos, her son José Matos and her daughter Maria Palmira Matos-Abud. She is survived by her children, Maria Fernanda Tarrataca and her husband, João, John Matos and his wife, Ilizabete and Maria Paula Parmenter and her husband, Paul. Maria was the dear grandmother of John, Joseph, Angelina, Austin, Logan, Haley, Samantha, Christian and the late Eduardo and sister of Ermesinda Gandarez, the late Maria Galito and Anezia Batista and a late brother Reinaldo Maranhão.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Friday June 11 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark on Saturday at 9:45 am followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
