Marie Riccio, 98 of Rockaway, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020. Born in Newark, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Vita (Bucilchie) Valvano, she lived in Belleville prior to moving to Rockaway 6 years ago. She retired as a laundress for Essex County Geriatrics Hospital in Belleville. The beloved wife of the late Frank Riccio, Marie is survived by her children, Donna Schaefer, Joanna Whipple, and Joseph Riccio; 4 grandchildren, Marie Gainer, Dennis Whipple, Alexa Whipple, and Joseph Riccio; and 4 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Gainer.
The funeral service and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington will be held privately.
