Obituary for Marie Josephine Siculietano (De Frino)

Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother

Marie Josephine (DeFrino) Siculietano, 87, left this world peacefully to rejoin her loved ones at home with God. A devout Catholic. Marie was born in Newark on April 7, 1935, (a birthday she shared with her father) to July 29, 2022, to the late Nicholas and Jeanette (Sivolella) DeFrino.

As a child Marie spent her early years in Lyndhurst with her 3 surviving sisters, Elizabeth Toole, Janet, and Geraldine DeFrino. Her first job was for the Propagation of the Faith, Bishop Stanton’s Office, Newark.

Married on February 28, 1960, she was the beloved wife of the late Phillip J. Siculietano. They would build a short life together in Nutley in her most important role as mom. She is survived by her daughter Maria Conway, and her husband John, her precious grandchildren Victoria and Kyle, and her son Phillip Siculietano and his life partner Kenneth Costello.

She would re-enter the workforce in 1988, after her husband’s sudden death, helping her son run their family-owned business, Passaic Window Cleaning and Building Maintenance until 1992. She returned to Lyndhurst in 1999 to live, and spent her final years at Alaris Health in Cedar Grove, where she was known and loved by all.

Marie was always entertaining, cooking, baking Christmas cookies and gathering people together, something she believed was the most important thing in life. Friendships and family were her treasure, and she abundantly shared her time and talents with all who came to know her. She will be remembered as a caring soul who always wanted to help people.
