Mary B. Bonavita, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Born in Newark, the daughter of Angelo and Mary (Santella) Ditri, she lived in Belleville and Verona prior to moving to Bloomfield.
Mary retired as the Cafeteria Supervisor for the Belleville Board of Education. She also enjoyed playing bingo and the slot machines.
The beloved wife of the late Frank Bonavita, she is survived by her children, Frank A. Bonavita and his wife, Daria and Maria Nichols and her husband, Bob; 4 grandchildren, Christine Carman and her husband, Jeff and Laura Bonavita and Robert and Patrick Nichols and 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Jack. Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Petrina Norton and Anna Fernandez and her brother, Bernard Ditri.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
