Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother
Mary P. O’Hara, 92 of Morris Plains passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Born in Newark, the daughter of Carmine and Theresa (Sierchio) Ficcio, she was raised in Newark and lived in Nutley from 1968 prior to moving to Morris Plains 12 years ago.
She worked as a waitress with Vecchiarello’s Catering in Little Ferry for 23 years prior to her retirement in 1995.
Mary was an avid reader, a lover of music and an amazing cook. One of her favorite things to do was to cook for her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved and adored.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Judith A. Vitale and her husband, Thomas; her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Jude Nolan and her husband, Bradley, Alexandra Alyse Vitale, Michael John, Gillian Nicole and Jack O’Hara; her great-granddaughter, Madeline Jude Nolan and her brother, Pat Ficcio and his wife, Camille. Along with her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her son, Michael David O’Hara and her sister Jean B. Ficcio.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley for a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 3-5 p.m.
In lieu flowers memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) would be appreciated.
