Owner of Plaza Bootery & Avid Fisherman
Matthew Polito, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Born in Nutley, the son of the late Nicolina (Romano) & Ignazio Polito, he was a lifelong resident. He was the owner of Plaza Bootery, formerly Plaza Shoe Repair in Nutley for decades. He was an avid fisherman, member and past president of the Nutley Kiwanis Club, a licensed Maritime Captain, and competitive drag racer.
Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Lidia (Eckhardt) Polito; three children, Lisa Rundlet & her husband, George, Matthew A Polito & his wife, Tonette and Renee Roche & her husband, Joseph and five grandchildren, Emily & Brian Rundlet, Austin, Sophie & Aiden Roche.
The funeral service will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter would be appreciated.
