Obituary for Megan H. D'Errico (Taylor)

Megan Hargreaves D’Errico, 70, widow of Joseph Anthony D’Errico, Jr., passed away at her home in Bloomingdale, NJ. Meg was the daughter of Gerard and Loretta Taylor and grew up in Nutley, NJ. She graduated from Nutley High School in 1971. Meg received a BA in French from Upsala College in East Orange, NJ, spending her junior year abroad studying at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She received her MS in Library Science from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Meg retired from her position as a legal librarian for Proskauer and Rose, LLP, in 2021 to care for her husband Joe, who passed away in November 2022. Meg and Joe were married in 1995 at Franklin Reformed Church in Nutley where Meg had been a parishioner all her life.

Meg made friends everywhere. She was known for her generosity and thoughtfulness. She loved to reminisce and had an amazing memory for details. Meg was always ready with treats, little presents and funny stories. She liked I Love Lucy and Laurel and Hardy and watched them again and again. She looked forward to going into New York City every day for work, and loved going to Broadway shows. Meg liked to travel. She and Joe returned many times to the same spot in Cancun, Mexico, where they had met on a vacation trip. They also traveled to Italy and enjoyed annual trips to Key West, FL, and Las Vegas, NV.

Meg is survived by her sisters, Kathryn Taylor and Lauren Morone, her brother-in-law, John Morone, her niece and nephew, Melanie and Michael Morone, and many cousins and friends. A memorial service for Meg and her husband Joe will be held at a later date.
