Obituary for Melanie Dowd
Melanie Anne Dowd, 36, of West Chicago, IL passed away October 1, 2019.
She was the wife of Richard Patmos and daughter of Mary Dowd Kuhn of Nutley and the late Melvin Dowd. She is survived also by her aunts, Emily Rugys, Lisa Kuhn and Faye Kuhn and uncles Thomas Kuhn, Matthew Kuhn and Vytas Rugys. She leaves behind her cousins, Matthew, Brendan and Ryan, Jonas Rugys and David Witner.
Melanie was born in Paterson, NJ and grew up in Nutley. She attended Nutley schools and graduated from Nutley High School. She attended the University of Arizona, pursuing a career in hospitality services. She worked as an Assistant Manager for TGIF in Clifton, NJ.
Melanie’s sparkling personality and loving generous nature touched everyone who knew her. She was interested in politics, fashion, social media and animal welfare and was smart, savvy, very creative and had a boisterous sense of humor. She loved travelling and discovering new experiences. She loved her family and friends with a passion and was a dedicated fan of her yoga class.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 4 to 8 pm.
Cremation will be private.
