Mercedes Cavanaugh, 80 of Berkeley Heights, NJ passed away Monday, April 20, 2020. Born in Passaic, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Helen (Flynn) Post, Mercedes had a big heart, big smile and joyful laugh. She will be greatly missed. Her family is at peace knowing she is now in a better place. She is survived by her children, James Cavanaugh Jr. (Mary), Marihelen Cavanaugh-Curry (Steven) and Timothy Cavanaugh (Donna); brother, James Post; 6 grandchildren, James III, Ryan, Kelsey, Colin, Zachary, Taylor and Christian; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mara and Emmarie. Along with her parents, Mercedes was predeceased by her son Thomas; brothers, Edward and Donald Post, and her sister, Bernadette Hollar.
Funeral Services will be held privately.
