Retired Firefighter
Michael Donovan, of Nutley, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. Born on Camp Lejeune, NC, the son of the late Virginia (Long) & Lawrence Donovan, he lived in Newark prior to moving to Nutley 41 years ago. Michael retired as a firefighter from the Newark Fire Department.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rita (Colamarco) Donovan; his daughter, Elizabeth Ayala & her husband, Derek and his brothers, Paul Donovan & his wife, Susanne and Edward Donovan. Michael was also the uncle of Kyle, Nicole & Linsey.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 10:45 a.m.
The cremation services will be private.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 3-7 p.m.
