Obituary for Michael D Fuzia

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael David Fuzia announces his passing on Wednesday, August 2, 2018, at the age of 54. Michael will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his sons, Michael and Matthew Fuzia; his father, Joseph J. Fuzia; his brother Mark Fuzia and sisters Dawn Marshall and Susan Fuzia. Michael also leaves twelve nieces and nephews and an extended family of in-laws whom he was very fond of. He is predeceased by his mother, the late Harriet (Caldwell), brother Joseph Fuzia, and nephew Joseph James Fuzia.
Michael was born in Newark, NJ, and lived most of his life in Nutley. He graduated from Nutley High School and was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Nutley community as a coach for numerous youth league soccer and baseball teams that his sons were part of. He was an enthusiastic Devils and Mets fan and loved watching their games with his sons cheering right alongside him.
Michael had a long career in the pharmaceutical packaging industry, most recently as Sales Manager for Integrated Packaging Systems of Denville, where he worked for nineteen years.
Michael was devoted to family and work. Most of all he was passionate about raising his two sons. He took great joy in being a father and relished all the moments of his sons’ childhood and took great pride in all their achievements.
All who love him and miss him will always be grateful for the love and light he brought into our lives.

A visiting for Michael will be held the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Saturday from 12-3 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Michael David on Tuesday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic in Nutley.
