Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
Michael D. Lelio, 85 of Belleville, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019. Born in Newark, the son of Ralph and Lena (Panigrosso) Lelio, he lived in Newark prior to moving to Belleville 57 years ago. He retired last November as the Terminal Manager at Dispatch Central in Jersey City. He was also a veteran.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor (DeFalco) Lelio; 3 daughters, Carol and Michele Lelio and Elaine Seiler; 10 grandchildren, Kristin, Nicole, Michael, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Nikki, Zachary, Joshua and Makenzie; 6 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Pietro, Gabriella, Dominic, Marco and Anthony and his sister, Marie Cantelmo. Along with his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his brother, Vincent.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark at 10:30 a.m.
The entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) would be appreciated.
