Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather
Michael J. Mundy, 75 of Rockaway, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born in Passaic, the son of James M. and Mary (Wirthman) Mundy, he lived in Belleville prior to moving to Rockaway 10 years ago. He retired as a truck driver from the Teamsters Union and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
The beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Aiello) Mundy, he is survived by his children, Susan Cocca and her husband, Leonard, Linda Mundy and Michael J. Mundy Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; 5 grandchildren, Meaghan Thompson, Leonard and Ryan Cocca and Samantha and Brooke Mundy; his sister, Alice and his brother, Thomas. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann and 8 brothers, William, Patrick, Peter, George, Joseph, John, James and Terence.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (http://www.lls.org/) would be preferred.
