Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather
“Michael Anthony Pedalino, 89, of Bloomfield, N.J., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at his home.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 8 a.m. at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, N.J.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield, at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave., Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born in Belleville, N.J., in 1929, the son of Frank and Michelina Pedalino (nee Macaluso), Michael lived in Belleville prior to moving to Bloomfield 65 years ago.
He graduated from Bloomfield Tech in 1948 and went on to serve in the Armed Forces in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Michael was also a member of the American Legion.
He worked at Sally's Auto Parts in Nutley, N.J., for over 40 years, retiring as the shop manager.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Eileen Pedalino (nee Potemski); two daughters, Michelina "Mickie" DeMatteo and her husband, Gerard, and Peggy Van Dort and her husband, Tom; six grandchildren, Lauren, Stephanie, Suzanne, Hannah, Thomas, and Cassandra, and two great-grandchildren, Willow Eileen and Miles George. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his sisters, Mary La Mura, Sylvia Borruso, and Virginia Pedalino, and his brothers, Peter, Victor, Salvatore, Joseph, Frank, Carmen, and Vincent.
