Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather
Miguel Alvarez, 83 of Pompton Lakes passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. Born in Camaguey, Cuba, the son of the late Miguel R. and Sixta (Nunez) Alvarez, he lived in Belleville and Nutley prior to moving to Pompton Lakes 5 years ago. Miguel received his Bachelors degree in Business from University of Phoenix and retired as the Vice President of International Accounting from Chase Bank.
The beloved husband of Maria (Perez) Alvarez, he is survived by his loving children, Miguel R. Alvarez and his wife Kim, Maria Remuszka and her husband Daniel, and Christina Young and her husband Fred, caring grandchildren, Melissa Grohotolsky, Marsha Alvarez-Stein, Jessica Conte, Daniel and Michael Remuszka, and Bryan Young, great-grandchildren Dylan, Ella, Zoe, Ava, Madison and Madeline, and sisters Caridad Tur, Martha Alvarez, and Suzanna Simonetty.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m.
