Obituary for Nancy Mac Kay (Sylvester)

Loving Daughter, Sister, Aunt & Cousin

Nancy Mac Kay, 81, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2019. Born in Passaic, the daughter of Tessie (Maroni) and Michael Sylvester, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Nutley. She was a former member of the St. Lucy Filippini Sodality, served on the Pastoral Counsel and was a communicant and active member of Holy Family Church. Nancy retired from St. Barnabas Health Care as a clerical worker, and previously was a self-employed hair dresser. She is survived by her grandnieces and nephew, Andrea, Thomas and his wife, Christina, and Morgan and her partner, Gene; and many great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Harry, and nieces Linda and Gayle.

The funeral will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.

The entombment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre Street in Nutley on Thursday, from 4pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Holy Family Church Maintenance Fund or your favorite charity would be preferred.
