Obituary for Nelson E. Oliver
Nelson E. Oliver, 78 of Boonton, passed away on Sunday March 21, 2021. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Martin and Carmela (Caliendo) Oliver. Nelson was the owner of C & D Deli in Belleville for many years before retiring and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was predeceased by his son Frank Oliver, grandson Michael, and mother-in-law, Delores Savaloja. Nelson is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Kaye (Savaloja), his daughter, Tracey Latham and husband Thomas, his sons Emil Oliver, Gregory Oliver and wife Heidi and his daughter-in-law, Donna Tumminelli.
He also leaves 9 grandchildren; Jessica, Nicole (Casey), Frank, Zack (Danielle), Tyler, Ben, Ally, TJ (Caitlin) and Marc. And his 2 beloved great granddaughters Emma and Madison.
Nelson was the dear brother and brother-in-law of Gerald (Debbie), Julia Hahn (Billy), Richard (Maria), RoseMarie Hicks, Rick Adams, Rosemary Oliver and Mildred Oliver. And brother of the late Marlene Oliver, Ralph, Catherine Adams, Maryann Nardone, Angela Bambo, Martin, Alan and Alice Feracco.
He leaves behind his great-aunts; Judy Caliendo, Ann Minieri and Lenore Barrella along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
Relatives and friends will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Wednesday March 24 from 4-6:30 pm. A service will be conducted on Wednesday evening at the funeral home at 6:30 pm.
Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Market Street Mission (www.marketstreet.org).
