Obituary for Nicholas Romano

The Best Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend

Nicholas Michael Romano Jr., 72, journeyed to Heaven on Thursday, December 17, 2020 due to Covid 19. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield, NJ. Nicholas was the son of Antoinette "Della" (Coppola) Romano and the late Nicholas Romano Sr and the adored godson of the late John and Peggy Romano. He was a Sergeant in US Air Force and proudly served his country from 1967 to 1971. Nicholas retired as a Warehouse Supervisor with Hanovia in Newark, NJ.

He was a NY Giants and Yankees fan, loved car shows, car races, car shopping, music, eagles and the American flag. He made the best pizza and gravy and was always there when you needed him. His absolute favorite thing was to watch the sunrise with Jennifer, Deana and Nicky. Deana and Nicky were his pride and joy and they were each other's best audiences. He loved any time spent with his mother, family dinners, Saturday mornings with Jennifer, Deana and Nicky, weekly lunches and daily calls with Jennifer, Wednesday afternoons with Mike and Joe, chats with Keith and causing trouble and talking with Scott. He looked forward to the family trips to Wildwood and sitting on the pier in Ocean Grove with his mother. Nicholas will be incredibly missed by his daughter Jennifer Romano-Nazzarese and her husband Scott, his grandchildren Deana and Nicky, his mother Della Romano, his sisters Marylou and Joanna Romano, his good friend Diane Clemente, nephews Nick and Antonio, niece Stella, many cousins and friends. His sister Michele predeceased him by two weeks.

We miss you already... Wait for us beyond the sunrise...

A funeral mass will be planned at a later date.
