Obituary for Norma Samia (Sichuco)

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother (Lola), and Sister

Norma S. Samia, 76, of Belleville NJ, passed away on March 16, 2022. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, she earned her B.S. in Chemistry in 1967 from Centro Escolar University and became a certified registered Chemist in 1970. Her first job was a Chemist in a sugar refinery. She moved from the Philippines to New York City in 1972 prior to New Jersey, and lived in her current home in Belleville for 27 years. Norma retired as a Chemist with Cambrex Corporation in North Brunswick NJ. She was the daughter of the late Eleuterio and Dominga (Bautista) Sichuco. She was predeceased by her husband Roberto. Survived by her sons Norbert and his wife, Maritoni, Ronald and his wife, Jennifer, grandchildren Gabriel, Arabelle, Lucas and Eliana.

Norma was a sister to Chuching, Renato, Anita, Totong, Etta, Amante, and Tessie. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family, cooking, gardening, travelling, dancing, and hosting parties. Norma was a deeply faithful woman, and was part of the Missionary Families of Christ, Handmaids Ministry. She was a devout parishioner to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Nutley NJ where she was a CCD aide and was a Eucharistic minister and provided communion to her community. Norma was loved dearly by her family and friends, as much as she loved them. She touched many in her life and left the world a better place.

Visitors will be received at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home in 267 Centre St., Nutley NJ, on Friday March 18 between the hours of 4:00-8:00pm.

The funeral will start Saturday March 19 at 9:00am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Nutley NJ at 10:00am.

The entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
