Obituary for Norman E. Mercier

Korean War Veteran

Norman E. Mercier, 89, of Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Born in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Yvonne (Beland) and Wilfred Provencal, he lived in Massachusetts and Newark prior to moving to Belleville 55 years ago.
Norman was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Nutley Old Guard. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a truck driver for Liquid Carbonic in Kearny.
The beloved husband of the late Lorena (Berkheimer) Mercier, he is survived by his children, Patricia Rezzonico, Norman E. Mercier Jr. and Christopher J. Mercier and his sister, Angela Yoson. Norman was also predeceased by his sister, Margaret Cormier and his brother, John.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley at 10:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m., Nutley Old Guard service will be 4:30 p.m.
