Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother
Nunzia “Nancy” IL Grande, 94 of Nutley, passed away on Thursday September 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Barletta, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Ruggiero and Angela (Riefolo) Capacchione. Mrs. IL Grande lived in Italy and Venezuela before coming to the United States in 1959 and settling in Nutley. She always treasured the many people and lives she touched while living in these places. Her life was a constant reminder of the importance of family and the role of a mother in her family. Nancy was a member of the Maria Assunta Association in Elizabeth, and a communicant and active parishioner at Holy Family Church in Nutley. She always enjoyed cooking her Italian specialties.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Alessandro “Alex” IL Grande and her daughter, Rita, she is survived by her loving children, Vincent and wife, Marianne, Catherine Blauvelt and husband, Bernard, Angela Sicoli and husband, Michael, Maria Kish and husband, Edward, Alexander Jr. and wife, Carolyn, Roger and wife, Diane and her 12 devoted grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Antoinette Stellatella, Anna Palmitessa, the late Carmen, Rafaele, Savino, Angelo and Damiano Cappachione and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Visitors will be received at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Monday September 9 from 4-8 pm.
The Funeral will begin from the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church at 9:30 am followed by entombment at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holy Family Nursery School, 174 Franklin Ave. Nutley, NJ 07110 in honor of Sr. Romilda would be appreciated.
