Patsy E. “Pebby” Briante, 75, formerly of Hoboken, passed away on Monday August 30, 2021. Born and raised in Newark, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Nunziata “Nancy” (Gaglione) Briante. Patsy was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Prepatory School in Newark, NJ. He earned Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Upsala College. Also known as “Coach”, Patsy was an elementary school teacher with the City of Newark Board of Education for the majority of his career, and also worked for The NJ Division of Motor Vehicles before officially retiring. Patsy's lifelong passion was football, playing at both St. Benedicts Prepartory School and Upsala College. He coached at Upsala and various other Northern NJ Youth Football programs and was greatly respected for his motivational speaking.
Patsy is survived by his beloved daughter, Stefany Pan, husband, Daniel Pan, his grandchildren, Amelia and Henry Pan. He was also the dear brother of the late Gerald, Louis, and Frank DeRogatis

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Friday September 3 at 9 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Church in Hoboken at 10 am followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 pm
