Obituary for Patsy Codomo

Loving Husband, Father,Grandfather & Great-Grandfather

Patsy Codomo, 88 of Belleville, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Born in Newark, he was a lifelong resident of Belleville and was the son of the late Ignazio and Santa (Stagliano) Codomo. Patsy was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he worked as a plasterer for Local 1199, later working for the Belleville Board of Education in the Maintenance Department. He was also a former member of the VFW Post 6265 in Belleville, former coach of Belleville’s Little League, and an avid golfer at Hendrick’s Field.

The beloved husband of the late Barbara A. Codomo, Patsy is survived by his children, John A. Codomo, and Patricia Cure; a brother, John Codomo; his 8 grandchildren, Michael Cure, Bryon Cure, Matthew Cure, Brianna Cure, John Anthony Codomo Jr., Joseph Patrick Codomo, Jonathan Barnes Codomo, and Lisa Palumbo; and 7 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Palumbo; 3 brothers, Samuel, Joseph and Leonard Codomo, and 3 sisters, Mary Sellatto, Madeline Sagarese, and Anne Holt.

The funeral will be on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 9:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church at 10:30am.

The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be preferred.
