Obituary for Peter Chichelo

Peter Chichelo, 69 of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday May 27, 2023. Born in Orange, he was the son of the late Louis and Josephine (Cicenia) Chichelo. Peter owned his own business, Chichelo Rubbish Removal for 50 years. He loved his work and even after retiring due to his health, his clients would still call him for advice and help. Peter enjoyed Italian food, going out for dinner, trips to Las Vegas and most of all, he treasured time spent with his family and friends, sharing meals, watching the Yankees and the Giants and telling stories about events in his life, always with a smile and a great sense of humor. With all his issues he always found ways to bring his doctors cake before his appointments, as he thought he would get better service. His specialty was making gravy and soups that he would share with his Four Seasons neighbors. There is an emptiness in our hearts.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jeanne (Iacullo) Chichelo, his children, Melissa Chichelo Lind and husband Eric, Michael Chichelo and wife Meredith, his grandkids, Dominic, Garbriella and Angelina. He also leaves brother-in-law Gerald Iacullo, sister-in-law, Karen Martino and husband, Peter, mother-in-law Josephine Iacullo, aunt Genevieve Fiorvante and his best friends, Arthur, Gary and Pat.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Newark on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 11 am.

Kindly omit flowers. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) would be preferred.
