Obituary for Phyllis Anna "Pat" Clauberg Mantz (Thatcher)

Phyllis Anna “Pat” Clauberg Mantz (nee Thatcher), age 95, formerly of Nutley, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023. She was born December 18, 1927, in Newark, NJ to her loving parents, Charles and Anna (Albert) Thatcher. Phyllis graduated from Nutley High School in 1945 and loved to garden, read, and listen to music, also relax on the beach and spend time with her loving family. She was also a member of the Nutley Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 50 years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Howard G. Clauberg and is survived by loving sons and daughter, Kurt Clauberg and wife Mary Jo, Gregory Clauberg and wife Nicole, Timothy Clauberg and wife Mishi and Robin Offreda and husband Alfonso. She was the dear sister of Sharon Herzog and the late Charlene Thatcher. Phyllis later married Harry Mantz, who predeceased her after 17 years of marriage. She was the stepmother of Kimberly Vigilante and husband Thomas and the late Judy Lee Pugliese and husband Nick and leaves 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday March 2 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral service will be also be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.

Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
