Rachel Sisbarro, 83 of Toms River, passed away on Thursday June 11, 2020. Born NewarK NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Marino) Battipaglia. Rachel lived in Harrison and in Fairlawn, NJ for many years before coming to Toms River two years ago. She was an underwriter with INA/Cigna Insurance for 33 years before retiring. She was also a volunteer at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. She was a great baker and was well known for her Pistachio Cake that she made for many family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Carolyn DeLorenzo and husband, Thomas, her grandchildren, Kara and Timothy DeLorenzo, her sister, Toby Kohler and husband, Richard, her brother, Joseph Battipaglia and wife, Paula and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Tortoriello and Margaret Collucci and husband, Nicolas.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Rachel at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark on Thursday, June 18 at 10:00 am followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
