Obituary for Ramon D. Zamora

Loving and Devoted Husband, Father & Grandfather
Ramon Donato Zamora was born in 1939 in San Diego del Valle, Villa Clara, Cuba, to Julia and Saturnino Zamora. He grew up on a farm in rural Cuba with his 10 brothers and sisters (Desiderio, Maria, Narciso, Georgelina, Bartolo, Redelio, Pedro, Orvelio, and Mario) of which 4 have survived him. He married his wife in 1963, and later applied and was granted permission to emigrate to the United States from Cuba with the help of his brother-in-law. After moving to the United States, Ramon worked in factories until he eventually bought his own. He was a successful business owner and an earnest employee for Wakefern Food Corp. for 11 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria Julia Lopez Zamora, daughter Yakelin “Jackie” Zamora, and granddaughter Alina Julia Garcia, all of whom were his world.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in No. Arlington at 10:a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
