Retired Physician
Renato Francisco Martinez, M.D., of Belleville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. Born in Santiago de Cuba, the son of the late Francisco & Rosa (Hinojosa) Martinez, he lived in Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, and West Orange prior to moving to Belleville 11 years ago.
He retired from his medical practice, Renato F. Martinez, M.D. in Bloomfield several years ago.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elena (Palomino) Martinez, 8 children, Renato Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Vivian Villa, Carmen Vellon, Aivy Ariza, Roselena Martinez, Giovanni Martinez & Cristina Velez; a brother, Francisco Martinez; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Luis Jiminez and his sister Rosa Martinez.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
