Richard A. Mazzitelli aka Shoes, Pepa & Peeps, 86 a lifelong resident of Nutley, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020. He retired from Wallace and Tiernan in Belleville. After his retirement, he worked as a Crossing Guard with the Nutley Police Department. He was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War
The son of the Andrew and Elizabeth (Valeo) Mazzitelli, he is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Lopa) Mazzitelli; his children, Lisa Zigarelli and her husband, Ron and Richard Mazzitelli, Jr. and his wife, Karen; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Nicole, Gianna Lynn, Jennifer, Ashley and Amanda and his sister, Palma Woodruff. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by 9 sisters and brothers.
The funeral will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9:30 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The cremation services will be private.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, (www.lung.org/) would be preferred.
