Obituary for Richard P. Tyrpak Sr.

Richard P. Tyrpak, Sr. age 78, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on February 8, 2021. Richard “Richie” was the loving husband of Anne (Hassan) Tyrpak, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Jersey City and raised in Newark, NJ, Richie moved to Nutley 47 years ago. He was the son of Stephen and Helen Tyrpak. Richie was an electrician with I.B.E.W #52 and #164 for 46 years. A devoted husband and father, his two great pleasures were being a devout New York Giants fan and going for rides on his Harley Davidson. He loved his children and grandchildren. He also loved summer vacations in L.B.I., listening to the oldies, and going to classic car shows.
Richie was a U.S. Army veteran and received various medals. He served in Vietnam from 1964-1966. He was a member of the VFW Post 493 and was also a little league coach.
Surviving with his wife are his four loving children: Richard Jr. and Christopher; Laura D’Amico, her husband Chris Sr., and their children Vianna and Dean; and Sharon Donnelly and her husband Tom. Richie is also survived by his two brothers Stephen and Robert Tyrpak and their families. Richie was predeceased by his parents and grandson, Christopher D’Amico, Jr.
Richie will be honored at a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Nutley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Paws for Purple Hearts, 10201 Old Redwood Hwy, Penngrove, CA 94951 or The Seeing Eye P.O. Box 375. Morristown, NJ 07963-0375 would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to S.W.Brown Funeral Home in Nutley.

The funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley, NJ 07110, on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:30am.

The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.
