Obituary for Robert J. Ferrara

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather

Robert J. Ferrara, 84 of Kearny passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Born in Belleville, the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Vocaturo) Ferrara, he lived in Nutley prior to moving to Kearny 47 years ago.
Robert retires from United Parcel Service in Secaucus as a truck driver. A Korean War Veteran, he was a member of VFW #493 in Nutley, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 22 in Belleville, American Legion Post #105 in Belleville and the Old Guard of Nutley.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie R. (Marchiano) Ferrara; his daughter, Gina Ferrara; 4 grandchildren, Gabrielle Pereira, Joseph Farrara, Dominick Pereira and Vincent Ferrara and his great-granddaughter, Francesca Pereira. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Michele Ferrara-Pereira, a sister, Louise Ferrara and 2 brothers, Louis and Frederick Ferrara.

The funeral will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 10 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church in Kearny at 11 a.m.

The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in No. Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

The Nutley Old Guard service will begin at 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans (DAV.ORG) would be appreciated.
