Obituary for Robert Stolz

Loving Husband, Son-In-Law, Brother-in-Law, Uncle & Friend


Robert W. Stolz, (Bob) 83 years old, passed away peacefully at Laurel Circle, Bridgewater, NJ. Bob was the son of the late Philip & Clare Stolz of Fanwood, NJ. He is survived by his wife Anna Marie (DeBacco) Stolz, he was pre-deceased by his loving in-laws Louis & Louise DeBacco, Julia Mele (DeBacco), and is survived by John Mele, Dina & Chuck Verdeaux, and his loving niece Gabriella & nephew Vincenzo; and many loving family members and friends.

He was a true American Patriot, who served during the Korean War. While he was in the US Navy, he served aboard the Missouri and Montague. He was stationed in San Diego, CA, for 2 years, & Seattle, Washington for the next 2 years of service. He received the National Defense Service Medal & Good Conduct Medal. He truly had an extraordinary regard for his fellow servicemen and women. He was a member of the American Legion Post 306 in Middlesex, NJ.

After his military career, he was a Bank and Loan Officer at Statewide Savings and Loan, Jersey City, NJ. Bob loved to travel with his wife Anna Marie, and always enjoyed a good time with family and friends. He was the kind of person who always brought a smile to everyone’s face. While he will be missed by all, always remember fun times shared that will hold a special place in your hearts.


The funeral service will be at the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street Nutley, on Wednesday at 10am.

Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
