Obituary for Robert James Walsh
Robert James Walsh, 74 of Newark, passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2020. Born and raised in Newark, he was the son of the late Donald and Anna May (Hill) Walsh. Robert lived in Belleville before returning to Newark and was a mail sorter with the U.S. Postal Service in Newark before retiring. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, a longtime advocate of the V.A. and a member of the AMVETS Post 26 in Belleville.
He is survived by his loving children, Dawn Cundiff and her husband, Ronald, David Walsh and his wife, Candice, Joseph Walsh and his wife, Christine, his former spouse, Donna Robertazzi and his grandchildren, Santino Cundiff, Jake and Madison Walsh and Gavin and Declan Walsh. Robert was the dear brother of T. Joseph Walsh and the late Donald Walsh and also leaves his good friend, Juan Feliciano
Service will be private.
A memorial Mass at Holy Family Church in Nutley with military honors will be planned at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or the VA New Jersey Health Care System (www.newjersey.va.gov/giving).
