Obituary for Rosario A. "Sy" Testa
Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather
Rosario “Sy” A. Testa, 91, of Nutley, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Nutley, he was the son of the late Anna (Camassa) & Donato Testa.. For many years, he was an usher for Holy Family Church in Nutley and a member of the Holy Name Society. Rosario was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He retired from Hoffman La Roche in Nutley after 45 years of service. Rosario is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Maria (Lavecchia) Testa; his children Joseph, John, and Maria (Testa) Rodier; his daughters-in-law Barbara, Lori, and Dawn and son-in law Darrell; his brother Anthony Testa and his wife Marion, brother-in-law Anthony Lavecchia and his wife Judy; his grandchildren Victoria, Jessica, Brianna, Christopher, Cristina, Anthony, Jonathan, and Ava. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosario is predeceased by his son Anthony C. Testa PhD; his sisters, Sister Clare Testa MPF and Santina Caruso and her late husband Oreste. Rosario will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
The funeral will be Saturday 8:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral mass will be 9:30am at Holy Family Church in Nutley.
The entombment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Holy Family Church Nativity Statue would be appreciated.
