Obituary for Rose M. DeMarco (Federico)
Rose M. DeMarco (nee Federico), 93 of Venice, FL, passed away peacefully, on March 11, 2021, with her husband at her side. Rose grew up on her family’s Cerami Dairy Farm, in Nutley, NJ and graduated from Nutley High School. She married Vincent P. DeMarco in 1976 and they resided in Mantoloking, NJ before retiring to Florida in 1996.
Rose enjoyed spending time at the beach gathering shells which she used in her crafting. She also was a great cook who enjoyed preparing Italian specialties for her family and friends. In addition, Rose loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines in New Jersey and the Tuscanaires at her assisted living facility in Florida.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, of 45 years, Vincent, her children, Joseph Sczyrek and his wife, Sarah; Mary Sczyrek, and Judith Gregorsky and her husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Mara, Jonathan, and Paula Jean; and great grandchildren, Jessica and Tommy. She also is survived by her siblings, Josephine Nugent, Louis Peccarelli and Linda Wright.
A memorial service was held in Venice, FL on March 20, 2021.
Visitation at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley, NJ from 10-11 am on Friday April 9.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 11:30 am followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
