Obituary for Rose Russomanno (Dinverno)

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother

Rose Russomanno, 97, formerly of Nutley, NJ, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 7, 2020 in the West Caldwell Care Center. Unfortunately, family was not able to visit their loved ones or to say good bye due to the corona virus. With the Holy Spirit present in our hearts, in a virtual phone call to the nursing facility, we lifted our Mom up in prayer and with the beautiful music of Ava Maria.
The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ, on Saturday April 11, where only the presence of her children and spouses can attend. We do ask for your prayers in your absence. We are planning to have a memorial service for our beloved Mom in the near future.
Born in Newark, NJ, Rose lived there prior to moving to Nutley, NJ; 18 years ago with her husband Rocco (deceased 4 years ago).
Rose was a member of the Forever Young Club where she enjoyed the participation of activities with family and friends and always willing to volunteer and lend a helping hand. She was loved for her nature of giving to others and received respect from all who knew her. She was a devotee of St. Gerard, a tradition which began with her Mother. This tradition has carried forward in our family for many years to the present. Rose had a strong catholic faith and prayed to the Blessed Mother with her rosary.

Rose was a loving homemaker whose family was her world. Our fondest memories were family dinners and holidays where we all enjoyed our mom’s cooking and baking. Having her house filled with family always gave her such joy. As young children she was always there for us, saw us off to school, made a home cooked lunch, and was there when we came home. In later years when becoming a Grandparent, she and our father were elated to welcome their precious grandchildren. From the very first day they met, our mother was our father’s sweetheart right from the first ice cream cone she gave him at her parent’s confectionary store. We were blessed throughout our lives to witness such a beautiful marriage of love and happiness for 69 years up until our father’s passing.
She is survived by three daughters, Grace Mauriello and her husband, Albert; RoseAnn Nardiello and her husband, Steve; and Joanne De Vito and her husband, Gary.

She also leaves four grandchildren, Albert Mauriello and his wife, Laura; Steven Nardiello, Deanna Simone and her husband Patrick; and Gary De Vito and his wife Amanda; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Gabriella, Andrew, Giavanna, and Rocco; a sister in law, Connie Bonomo Casale; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Anna, and brothers, Anthony, Carmine, Joseph, and Chester.
